The MPD is a multi-dimensional agency dedicated to maintaining public safety through crime prevention, community policing and data-driven intelligence. Staffed with Officers who are highly trained, technically proficient and culturally sensitive, we are a pro-active police force that solves problems by building trust, communication and cooperation with the communities we serve.
With 9 Police Stations located throughout the city, Uniform Patrol is the strength of the MPD, and all other divisions support its activities. Responsible for patrolling all areas of the city, responding to routine and emergency calls, conducting preliminary crime investigations and enforcing both criminal and traffic laws, Uniform Patrol is the community’s primary point of contact for services.
